About eight years ago I had to have surgery on my knee due to slightly torn cartilage. Ever since then, both knees tend to get a little tender and swollen. Aside from this I was told that I have a low platelette count and at my last physical (approx 2 years ago) they found protein in my urine. Also, from the descriptions I've read, I think I may have Raynaud's symptoms as my hands and feet tend to be ice cold and purpilish in hue. Should I be concerned enough to see a doctor? Or am I just being a hypochondriac?
The symptoms you describe are all relatively common and can have a number of different causes, so I would be disinclined to conclude from this that you have lupus. If the knee pain is causing you problems, it may well be worth seeing a doctor anyway. Many people develop pain like this as they get older, often due to non-aggressive arthritis, and there are various ways to relieve it which some find to be quite effective. And don't worry - seeing your doctor about a genuine problem doesn't make you a hypochondriac.

At 22 wks weeks my husband and I went in for a regular prenatal exam and I was told my Ob/gyn that I needed to go and have emergency surgery to have a cerclae put in to keep my little second child from being delivered early. So of course I had the surgery just to better my baby's chance of survival. I still delivered at 35wks 5days but my baby was born healthy (5lbs 8oz). I was told after delivery that there was scarrig done to my cervix from the cerclage. My dr. didn't have time to remove the cerclage before my water broke so he burst through my cerclage. At my pap smear, my regular Ob dr. said that I had a hole in my cervix that is almost beyond repair so having another baby would be very high risk. I found out at an appt yesterday that I maybe pregnant. Should I fear the worse or be as happy as I want to be?
I have had 2 counts of memory loss in a space of a few days. Even though I have been told about the course of events, I cannot remember. The description of events and action is totally out of character and is absolutely crazy. Will i ever remember, is my condition getting worse.
This is almost debilitating, then I will have several days of feeling almost normal. I take blood pressure meds and daily low dose aspirin, dont smoke, drink alcohol, or use drugs. I have always exercised, but recently havent had the energy. I almost dread the doctor because I know it will be a process of elimination because of such vague symptoms
I am on Alabama Medicaid and my pain doctor moved to Chicago and I cannot find any other pain doctors to continue my medication. I need a new doctor in the Birmingham area that isn't afraid to prescribe my fentanyl patches (100) and my percocet breakthrough medications. Almost all the clinics don't do medication therapy to Medicaid patients, they are afraid that the patient will divert the medicine. I am a real patient in need of medication for my horrid pain. I have files to prove my conditions and history of therapy. I just need a new doctor that will accept Alabama Medicaid and do medication therapy. I don't need blocks or epidurals or physical therapy, just a a doctor who is willing to accept a new Medicaid patient and will continue to write my prescriptions for me. I've called about 50 doctors with no good result and AL Medicaid does not keep a list of doctors either. This is a challenge mostly, because unless you call every doctor there is no way of knowing the answer. (You spelled answer wrong on your web page in the orange block for free answsers!)
