I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and restless leg syndrome. My ESR is 129 and my CRP is 2.39(h). Also have borderline anemia with HCT of 34.4, RBC 3.58, since 1997 negative (ANA). Now I was diagnosed with Rosacea. Might this can lead to lupus? My condition has been worsening since 1997. I had a genetic test then that were negative. My rheumatologist tell me not to worry I look fine. Do I need to be retested or try other tests? My 23 year old daughter has positive ANA but normal sedrate. Please advise. So confused.
ANA and ESR are not specific for any particular problem. They can be elevated in multiple conditions. You most likely will not develop Lupus. I am concerned you may suffer from generalized anxiety and should see a psyciatrist.
Your ESR is extremely high, and should be investigated further. Your RBCs are low. Your rheumatologist is ridiculous- after all, almost everyone with autoimmune disease looks fine, don't they? As for the first answer to your post, what an unsensitive reply. Anyone who is really sick and not being believed by their doctor (even with positive bloodwork!) would be anxious. It's time to find a new rheumatologist. What are your physical symnptoms?
I'm not a doctor by any means, but I was appauled by the earlier answer. I think you should ask your rhuematalogist or family doctor to review your blood test with you. They won't be offended. Maybe there are simple answers as to why your blood work has come back abnormal. Either way, it is your right to know the reasons behind the test and the results.
Best of luck to you!
